Senior Purchasing Specialist

RESPONSIBILITES

  • Liaising with key company employees to determine their product and service needs

  • Performing all procurement activities including but not limited to:

    • Suppliers pre-qualification,

    • Request for quotation, 

    • Negotiating supplier agreements, 

    • Preparation & Issuance of purchase orders / contracts

  • Developing strong relationships with business stakeholders and strategic supply partners to improve business

  • Monitor and review suppliers performance

  • Identify, recruit and maintain freight forwarders for all the movement of trading merchandise

  • Ensure effective negotiation of air, sea and road freight rates

  • Ensure timely follow up with freight forwarders for nominated shipments.

  • Identify, recruit and maintain logisitcs and brokers for handling international shipments and customs clearance

  • Supervise follow up for Performa invoice from supplier and preparation of supplier invoice

  • Ensure timely receipt of shipments

  • Supervise follow up with suppliers for documents (supplier invoice, Performa invoice)

  • Coordinate with suppliers on SED (short / excess/ damages)

  • Supervise timely payments to suppliers

  • Delegating tasks and supervising the work of Purchasing and Procurement department

  • Identifying areas for improvement to continually drive performance and business results

  • Coordination and evaluation of procurement for the organization

  • Prepare and review monthly reports on efficiency and productivity.

  • Submit a monthly updated supplier and product lists

  • Maintain and update suppliers file (Profile, Commercial Registration, Tax Card, VAT Registration)

  • Submit Bi-weekly reports on shipments and expected delivery dates

  • Submit Bi-weekly reports on cash requirements for forecasted supplier payments


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 6-8 years proven working experience
  • Previous experience in IT& integrated systems Industry
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Very good Command of English
  • Excellent Communication and Negotiation Skills
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
